General Description
A new partnership between EcoRecycle Victoria and the Plastics and Chemicals Industries Association (PACIA) is targeting the increased recovery and recycling of plastics in the automotive industry. Potentially 80,000 + tonnes of material end up in landfill per annum in Victoria with the potential to be put to better use. The two-year project is managed by a full-time Project Manager to identify and initiate opportunities at all stages of the supply and recovery chains for plastics.
Suggested Use
Some of the project goals are: •Providing a focus/resource for product stewardship •Design-for-recycling •Mapping material flows for supply chain improvements •Identifying barriers to recovery and re-processing and creating networks to overcome these •Developing end-market options for recyclates •Identify and report case studies of good practice as models For more information, please contact Heather Thurman at PACIA on (03)9426-3830 or hthurman@pacia.org.au
